  • Kayley sold her first image in 2003 of a wildfire to The St. Johns Review newspaper. She has worked full time as a professional photographer ever since! Hoddick Photography officially opened in 2009. Learn more about our history here.

  • Yes!! Kayley is professionally trained in fine art, design, lighting, retouching, posing and business. She started her photography journey on the Cleveland High School newspaper and yearbook. Then Kayley earned her Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art Photography at Pitzer College of the Claremont Colleges. She later attended Hallmark Institute of Photography where she received the award for Highest Academic Excellence upon graduation. She continues her education by attending workshops and conferences like Wedding and Portrait Photographers International in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2024 Kayley taught her first photography workshop for Studio Art Quilt Associates.

  • Absolutely! We believe in being prepared and that means having the best gear for the job. We have state of the art equipment from Nikon, Profoto, Adobe, SanDisk, Apple and more. We come to our events and sessions with backups of all our equipment just in case! See a list of our favorite gadgets and tools here.

  • Maintaining the highest level of professionalism is our top priority. We pride ourselves on giving our clients peace of mind. Carrying liability insurance is just one of the ways we help ensure your day goes smoothly! If you are planning a wedding or event we recommend all of your vendors to be insured. You can even consider purchasing coverage for yourself.

 

BOOKing & Payments

  • All we need to get you officially on the calendar is a signed contract and retainer! We can email digital contracts and offer online payments.

    PORTRAITS: 50% to reserve your date, remainder due at session

    WEDDINGS & EVENTS: 50% or $1000 minimum to reserve your date, remainder due 60 days in advance

  • We accept all major debit and credit cards through our online payment portal with a 3% processing fee. To avoid this fee please mail a check or drop off cash to the studio in North Portland. Please contact us for an address.

  • We enjoy exploring new locations! Our pricing includes travel within the Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington metropolitan areas. However, we would love to go farther with you!

    SESSIONS, WEDDINGS OR EVENTS NEAR LINCOLN CITY, OR: Starting at $250

    Additional travel is typically charged $2/mile but depends on date/type of session/distance and how excited I am to go there! Destination or out of town events require flights, transportation and at least 2 nights of accommodations.

Weddings & Events

  • In 2025 we will photograph our 400th wedding!!!!!!!!! Kayley photographed her first wedding in 2008 and now averages 25 events per year.

  • Yes, if you qualify they are 100% free with no strings attached! Seriously! They are an opportunity to see if we are a good fit for your big day. Learn more here. You can also book a longer session starting at $450/hour.

  • Most couples invest $2500-4000 for a full day of photography, an online gallery with unlimited digital downloads and an album. However our services are completely customizable! A detailed list of our current pricing can be found here. Please contact us if you have an idea or want to create something you don’t see offered.

  • It’s really up to you! We have captured 1 hour elopements and multi day affairs. We recommend 5 hours minimum to tell the story of a full event. Most clients book 8 hours of photography. If you’re unsure, you can always upgrade later. Book a smaller package now, and once we build your timeline together you can add hours if needed. We can even stay late the day of if things run behind!
